The special prize Platinum Goats at the 35th Ale Kino! International Young Audience Film Festival is being awarded to somebody whom every child dreams of and even some grown-ups do, too.
This "somebody" was born in 1967, so he has just turned 50 years old. Although it's a respectable age, our laureate stays cheerful, curious of the world and trustful as if he were a child. He is one of the biggest and most pleasant stars of Polish cinema.
The list of roles he has played is truly impressive. He has been a polyglot, educator, defender, philanthropist, homebody, fireman, sportsman, alpinist, rover, actor, viewer, cosmonaut, magician, nurse, rationalizer, castaway, painter, searcher, rescuer, detective, stickler for cleanliness, defeater, sailor, medallist, peacekeeper, Robinson, comforter, singer, matchmaker, dentist, orchardist, companion, teacher, saviour, host, therapeutist, composer, ice skater, and most of all, a dreamer. He met many characters from the realm of animals and the realm of men. He saved them, comforted in need, rejoiced in spending time together. He was their True Friend.
Suitable for a person of his age and stature, he has his own hall in a certain museum. Because he has remained young, he is also the hero of a computer game. He can communicate without using words. He has spots. He has four paws and a tail. This year's Platinum Goats is being awarded to Reksio the dog, hero of the series produced by Animated Movies Studio in Bielsko-Biała from 1967 until 1990. For half a century, Reksio has been living in children's imagination, which means he is real.
